Venice Film Festival 2013 trailers

The 70th Venice Film Festival kicked off Wednesday with a screening of 3-D space odyssey “Gravity.” Oscar-winning director Bernardo Bertolucci is this year’s jury president. Awards to be handed out include the Golden Lion for best film, Silver Lion for best director and a new Grand Jury Prize. Here are a few of the films that will be presented at the festival, which concludes Sept. 7.

'Gravity'

A drama following an engineer with little space experience who must rely on veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky when satellite debris cuts them loose in space. With Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

'Tracks'

Based on the true story of Robyn Davidson, the story chronicles her solo trek from Alice Springs to Uluru and on to the Indian Ocean in the unforgiving Australian desert, accompanied by her loyal dog and four unpredictable camels. With Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver. Directed by John Curran.

'The Wind Rises'

An animated historical fantasy film looking at the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed Japanese fighter planes during World War II. With Hideaki Anno and Mirai Shida. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

'Ana Arabia'
